Patient 8A -1st PET scan (slide 2 of 2)

History: 61 year old male with newly diagnosed esophageal carcinoma. PET FDG study performed to rule out metastases.

Impression: Several hypermetabolic foci involving the mid esophageal region (primary lesion), as well as the para-aortic lymph nodes (metastases).

Normal excretion of FDG by kidneys into bladder.
