Residency Nuclear Pharmacy

The program is designed to serve as a 12 month, post-graduate training program in Nuclear Pharmacy. Successful completion of this residency meets the requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for "Authorized User" status, and qualifies the resident for 2,000 hours toward eligibility for board certification in nuclear pharmacy (BCNP).

Upon completion of this program, a pharmacist will be expected to have:

  1. An understanding of radiopharmaceuticals, and the ability to provide safe, effective, and economical use of radiopharmaceuticals in the practice of nuclear medicine
  2. An advanced level of knowledge of medical imaging and its role in patient care
  3. Basic experience in research methods
  4. A demonstrated ability to communicate to health professionals by both written and verbal means
